CDW in Alpine Resorts.
- Unsealed roads (excluding 4WD’s) except roads under repair

- 4WD vehicles may be taken on unsealed roads, but can only be driven
on recognised roads. Off road driving is not permitted and will invalidate
the cover provided by Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and thus renders

CDW is also negated for the Following:
- Group A class cars collected from any participating location are
not allowed to be taken into Western Australia or the Northern Territory.

Falls in the Northern Territory. In Western Australia Group V vehicles
may not be driven on the Gibb River Road, the Tunnel Creek Road, the

Driving those vehicles into these regions will invalidate the cover

liable for all repair costs.
- Fraser Island: Only 4WD vehicles are allowed to enter Fraser Island.
Accident Damages
Hertz Tour Rates in Australia include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
as long as the renter complies with the rental terms and conditions
which provides cover for accident damages to the Hertz vehicle and/or
Third Party Property.
In the event of accident damage, an Accident Damages Excess (ADE) will
apply. This is the amount the renter contributes towards the loss or
damage.
For all 4WD rentals and car rentals originating from Remote and 4WD
locations, an ADDITIONAL excess applies for Single Vehicle Accident
(SVA) damage.
'Single Vehicle Accident' damage means any accident, in which the vehicle
is involved, which does not involve the vehicle colliding with another
moving vehicle, including but not limited to rollovers, collisions with
animals, and reversing into stationary objects.
Accident Excess Reduction (AER): at selected locations the renter has
the option to reduce the ADE and waive the SVA excess by purchasing
AER.
Renter Protection Package (PKG): combines AER with the benefits of Personal
Accident Insurance (PAI) Personal Effects Cover (PEC) and 100% Tyre
and Windscreen Damage Buyout J & W). PKG is capped at 14 days for
each 30 days of rental, excluding remote regions.
Premium Protection Package (PPKG): combines AER with the benefits of
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) Personal Effects Cover (PEC) and Tyre
and Windscreen buyout (T & W buyout) is available only on car rentals
and at select Metro and Remote locations). This option also reduces
the Single Vehicle Accident Excess where applicable.
Note: Tyre & Windscreen Damage buyout not available separately.
For complete details of the PAI, PEC and T&W policies, 'Are You
Protected?' brochures are available at participating Hertz rental locations.
"SNO" Option which validates CDW in Alpine Resorts must be
purchased at an additional charge of A$22.00 inc GST per rental day
for cars (Groups D, E and F) being driven into Alpine Resorts.
Third Party Property and injury insurance cover
Third Party Property Liability Insurance is automatically covered under
a third party property damage Master Policy executed by Hertz and is
subject to the renter complying with all Terms and Conditions of the
rental and payment of the Accident Damages Excess. Third Party Liability
cover for personal injury is governed by separate Government legislation
in each Australian State and Territory. The right to claim may be limited
by the legislation and excesses may apply.
There are many factors relevant to a determination of which third party
liability cover for personal injury will apply in the event of an accident,
such as the state or territory in which a vehicle is registered, the
state or territory in which the accident occurs and the state or territory
in which another driver or injured person resides. Should an accident
in which a person is injured occur, the renter should contact the police,
Hertz and the insurer of the state or territory in which the hired vehicle
is registered.
This summary of the cover available throughout Australia is meant as
a guide only and no warranty of accuracy or reliability is given or
responsibility accepted by Hertz for the information contained below.
In the event of an accident, the renter should make independent enquiries
of the relevant insurer of the vehicle.
