Getting AroundIn Cairns most hotels will pick up passengers free of charge from the airport. All major car rental companies are represented at the airport. There are also taxis and limousine transfers available from the airport. Public Transport is available throughout the Cairns City area to to the suburbs and the beaches. The main local bus terminal in Cairns is the Lake Street Transit in City Place. Buses run from Monday to Friday, Saturday until lunch time, but do not run on Sunday. Private bus companies also run buses up to Yorkey's Knob. Bicycles are another good way of getting around Cairns. The bikes are available from hostels and car-hire companies. |
