Abercrombie House: Located 8 km from the centre of town, this huge baronial style mansion of the late 1870's was built for the son of the former Lieutenant Governor of New South Wales. Abercrombie Caves are also a fascinating place to visit, located not far from the house.

Bathurst Court House: An 1880's stone building with Italian renaissance influences. It was built 3 years after its flanking wings, and it has an imperial grandeur that symbolises Victorian confidence . Open 1000 - 1600, Monday-Friday.

Carcoar: The village of Carcoar, is the third oldest inland township in Australia and has kept its appearance as it was in the 1840's-1870's. This town features the Church of Immaculate Conception and is now classified as an historic village.

Dundullimal, Dubbo: Intact homestead featuring the hardships of Dubbo's squatter's era. A fascinating insight into the lives of those who lived to survive during hard times. Open 0900 to 1700 Daily.

Hill End: A sleepy town, which was formerly a gold fossicking centre, features many historical buildings and sites. Hill End is located west of Bathurst.

Pioneers Museum, Gulgong: Located on Herbert Street, this museum is considered to be the most comprehensive in the state's west, and is like a step back in history. Gulgong is the town that originally featured on the 10 dollar note, which has been used as guide for the restoration of many historical buildings in the area.

Western Plains Zoo: Located 5 km from the city of Dubbo. This Zoo is the largest open plain Zoo in Australia and you can drive, walk or cycle around it. There is also on-site accommodation in the form of the Zoofari Lodge. The zoo is famous for the feature of the white tiger, along with many other rare species of animals. Restaurants and kiosks are located all around the park as well as souvenir shops.

Mt. Panorama: Located in Bathurst, this is the site for the annual Bathurst 1000 km motor car race. Held every year in October, it attracts many visitors, as various car related competitions are held over the same week as the motor race.
