Falls Creek: A centre for cross-country skiing with trails that lead around Rocky Valley pondage. The only ski village in Australia where everyone can ski directly from their lodge to the slopes.

Mt Baw Baw: Located in the Baw Baw National Park, Mt Baw Baw is a small resort with eight lifts and is more relaxed and less crowded.

Mt Buffalo: With no private lodges on the mountain, accommodation is limited to two guesthouses. There are many cross-country loops, with one of the trails going to the base of the Horn, which skiers climb on foot. Walking trails are also interesting, taking you beneath towering granite monoliths.

Mt Buller: Mt Buller is the most crowded resort in Victoria because it is less than three hours drive from Melbourne. It has 24 lifts and night skiing from Wednesday to Sunday.

Mt Hotham: Well known for its powder- snow, Mt Hotham has only eight lifts but some good off-piste skiing in steep and narrow valleys. Cross-country skiing is good as well as ski touring on the Bogong High Plains, which can be crossed to Falls Creek.
