Cathedral Rock National Park: Unique rock formations located throughout the forest of the New England plateau are the feature of this beautiful National Park. With bushwalking, wildlife to see and picnic areas, a day in the park suits everybody. Situated about 80km east of Armidale on the Armidale-Ebor-Grafton road.

Gibraltar Range National Park: Features include flowing lakes, breathtaking waterfalls, lush rainforests, grand open bushlands and eucalypt forests in the New England Ranges. Located about 70 km from Glen Innes and 95 km from Grafton, the Gibraltar Range is not to be missed.

Hillgrove: Perched on the lip of a gorge that drops 600m to Bakers Creek. Today the town hears birdsong and the bleating of livestock. A century ago, this place resounded to the pounding of great engines and to thumping blasts from mine shafts deep in the rock below, and buzzed with the activities of nearly 4000 people. Now it is historically and beautifully restored located 30km east of Armidale.

Moree Plains Gallery: Located in the old Moree Commercial Bank it has since been converted to house a wide choice of exhibitions with a focus on traditional & contemporary Aboriginal art. Open: 1000 to 1700 Monday-Friday, 1200 to 1600 Saturday, and 1300 to 1600 Sunday.

Mount Kapatur National Park: Located 57 km east of Narrabri, it features great bush walks through a mass of rock formations, craggy peaks and ranges, created by an 18 million-year-old volcano. Mount Kapatur (1,524m) enjoys majestic views to the horizon.

New England National Park: World Heritage-listed wilderness with beautiful scenery, magnificent waterfalls, mountains, lush rainforests and a network of bush walking trails. This park is ideal for a relaxing day out, with picnic areas available.

New England Regional Art Museum: Home of the Howard Hinton and Coventry Collections. Located in Armidale.

Oxley Wild Rivers National Park: Features more than 90,000 hectares of unspoilt wilderness, located east of Armidale, containing waterfalls and gorges, including Wollomombi and Apsley Falls. These famous falls are a popular tourist attraction for their magnificent sculpture and majestic atmosphere.

Saumarez Homestead: A wrought-iron mansion which still contains the memorabilia of the White family whose dynasty built it. Located off the New England Highway between Armidale and Uralla, this mansion is a architects dream and shows the unique quality of the early era.

Tamworth City Gallery: Features contemporary Australian fibre textiles and colonial Australian silver collection. A fascinating insight into the textile trade in Tamworth.
