Getting Around

There is a local bus service which operates from Metro Central in Launceston between Paterson and York Streets. Rent-a-Cycle, at the Launceston City Youth Hostel, has a good range of bikes and will allow you to leave your luggage there. One way rentals are also possible as the bike is returned by bus.

How To Get There

There is a domestic airport at Launceston and an international airport at Hobart. Ansett and Qantas fly from Melbourne and the smaller airlines fly from Essendon and Moorabbin. Promair flies from Welshpool in eastern Victoria and Hazelton fly from Sale. Redline operates an airport shuttle into and out of Launceston. Redline and Hobart coaches operate buses to and from Devonport and Burnie.
