3 Days Red Centre Highlights
Day 1. Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Uluru (Ayers Rock).
Depart Alice Springs, visiting the Outback Camel Farm and view Mt Conner before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon drive out to the magnificent domes of Kata Tjuta, where the cluster of 36 dramatic rock formations dominates the western skyline of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Follow the natural creek bed deep into majestic Olga Gorge (Walpa Gorge), where some of the plants you see are so rare that they are only found in and around these distinct sandstone monoliths. Later in the afternoon travel to Uluru and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the show of changing colours on
the rock at sunset.
Stay: Ayers Rock Resort, choice of hotel.
Day 2. Uluru Sunrise, Mutitjulu, Mala Walk, Guided Base Tour, Uluru Climb, Kings Canyon.
Guided Base Tour, Uluru Climb, Kings Canyon. Today enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and enjoy a tea or coffee while watching the first light of the new day strike Uluru. Enjoy a guided walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu. See cave paintings and learn the legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Then join the guided Mala Walk and learn of the Mala (Hare Wallaby) people who lived at Uluru. Visit Kantju Gorge, a sacred waterhole and old hunting ground at the base of Uluru. Alternatively forgo the guided Mutitjulu and Mala walks to make the 348-metre climb to the summit of Uluru. From the summit enjoy views over the desert floor to Kata Tjuta. Visit the Cultural Centre and the Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative to see Aboriginal artists at work. Later this afternoon travel to Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park.

Day 3. Kings Canyon, Kings Creek Station.
Enjoy a guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon and through the 'Lost City' and 'Garden of Eden' (requires a good degree of fitness). See the towering walls and unique plant life. An alternative easy walk along the canyon floor is available. This afternoon travel through some of the vast cattle properties of Central Australia, stopping at Kings Creek Station before arriving in the town of Alice Springs at approximately 6.30 p.m.
