5 Day Dunedin, Queenstown and Milford Tour

Day 1 Christchurch - Dunedin
Travel today on The Southerner train. Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you travel across the manicured Canterbury Plains to seaside Timaru, whitestone Oamaru and alongside the rugged coastline to Palmerston. Then its over the Kilmog Hill and Mount Cargill to Dunedin - the Edinburgh of the south, arriving early afternoon.
Accommodation: Southern Cross Hotel, Alcala Motor Lodge or similar.

Day 2 Dunedin-Taieri Gorge-Queenstown
Morning free for optional city tours or to see the wildlife on the Peninsula. Then board the Taieri Gorge Train travelling to Pukerangi where you transfer to the coach bound for Queenstown.
Accommodation: Copthorne Resort Lakefront, Blue Peaks Lodge or similar.

Day 3 Queenstown-Milford-Queenstown
Our journey today with Newmans Coach Lines traces the shore of Lake Wakatipu to Kingston, then across rich farming country to Te Anau and the beautiful Eglinton and Hollyford Valleys. The Homer Tunnel and the awesome Cleddau Canyon preclude our arrival into Milford Sound. A one and a half hour cruise on magnificent Milford Sound is included in the fare.
Return to Queenstown for tonight's stay.

Day 4 At Queenstown
A full day for you to enjoy this fabulous resort. We have included the Skyline Gondola and the Kiwi Magic movie in your tour. There are dozens of optional activities as well - thrilling jetboating on the rivers, white water rafting, helicopters through the chasms, A J Hackett's world famous bungy jumping, cruises on the lake on the vintage 'TSS Earnslaw', high country sheep stations, gold panning and spectacular walking trails. The list is endless with something for everyone.

Day 5 Queenstown-Mount Cook-Christchurch
We leave Queenstown and travel with Newmans Coach Lines through the rugged Kawarau Gorge to Cromwell and then up over the Lindis Pass to the Mount Cook National Park. Time is available for lunch (own expense) before continuing to Lake Tekapo. After a brief stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd, our journey continues across the Canterbury Plains to the garden city of Christchurch. Our arrival time is approximately 6.15pm.
