5 Days The Best of Uluru & The Red Centre
Day 1. Ayers Rock Resort, Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunset Viewing and Drinks.
Arrive at Ayers Rock Airport before 1.00 p.m. and be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, travel to the domes of Kata Tjuta and walk into majestic Olga Gorge (Walpa Gorge). At sunset, stop to watch the magnificent changing colours of Uluru.
Two Night Stay: Ayers Rock Resort, choice of hotel.
Day 2. Sunrise, Cultural Centre, Liru Walk, 'Sounds of Silence' Dinner.
Rise early and return to Uluru to watch the sunrise before enjoying breakfast at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Then join Aboriginal guides and a language interpreter for the Liru Walk. Retrace the path of Aboriginal mythological ancestors. Visit sacred sites and hear stories told by Uluru's traditional owners. Learn about Uluru's history and Aboriginal bush skills before returning to the Cultural Centre to wander amid the fascinating displays. Tonight experience the gourmet 'Sounds of Silence' Dinner in the desert followed by a tour of the stars. (BD)
Day 3. Ayers Rock Resort, Kings Canyon.
Enjoy the morning at leisure. This afternoon depart for Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park.
Stay: Kings Canyon, choice of hotel.
Day 4. Kings Canyon Walk, Alice Springs.
Kings Canyon, located on the western edge of the George Gill Ranges, is a huge formation of weathered rocks and beautiful waterholes. You have a choice of two guided walks. For the more energetic, the rim walk rewards you with stunning views of the canyon walls. Wander through the formation of the 'Lost City' and down into a lushly vegetated valley to see the 'Garden of Eden'. The canyon floor walk takes you deep into the canyon, through beautiful plant life and beneath towering orange walls. This afternoon travel to the township of Alice Springs, stopping en route at Kings Creek Station to learn about life on an Outback cattle station.
Stay: Alice Springs, choice of hotel.
Day 5. Alice Springs.
Enjoy leisure time in 'The Alice' before transferring to the airport or railway station.
