Day 1 - Perth to Kalbarri NP
We begin our adventure early, travelling north through the fascinating landscape of the Nambung National Park and checking out the famous Pinnacles before heading to the historic coastal fishing town of Dongara for lunch. We continue onto Kalbarri National Park to explore the spectacular layered sandstone coastal gorges and to witness the pounding Indian Ocean. Overnight camp in Kalbarri. (LD)
Day 2 - Kalbarri NP to Monkey Mia
Up bright and early, we head to picturesque Murchison River Gorge to visit Natures Window, The Loop and stretch our legs with a hike into the beautiful Z Bend Gorge where we may get time for a refreshing swim. After lunch we continue on to the Shark Bay World Heritage area and Monkey Mia for a chance to meet the friendly wild dolphins or relax on the beach and enjoy the sunset. Overnight at Monkey Mia Resort. (BLD)
Day 3 - Monkey Mia to Coral Bay
Wake up to the dolphins and pelicans waiting to be fed at Monkey Mia, with the option of a morning sail on a luxury catamaran. Heading out of Shark Bay we walk down to the unique Shell Beach and then visit the stromatolites - the oldest living organisms in the world! After lunch we head to the ocean playground of Coral Bay via Canarvon. Overnight at Coral Bay. (BLD)
Day 4 - Coral Bay to Exmouth
Spend a relaxing morning snorkelling the famous Ningaloo Reef, accessible from Coral Bay's white sandy beach. Alternatively, you can choose one of the many optional activities including quad biking, snorkelling with manta rays, coral viewing cruises and scuba diving. Mid afternoon we take a short drive to Exmouth, where we say goodbye to passengers finishing their tour or jumping off to spend more time exploring the Ningaloo region and swimming with whalesharks (seasonal). Day 5 - Exmouth to Karijini NP
We welcome any new passengers and head off early towards the remote but spectacular Karijini National Park. After lunch, we call in at the mining town of Tom Price to pick up supplies for our 2 nights camping in Karijini. In the afternoon, we hike into Joffre Falls, an unusually carved wall forming a natural amphitheatre, where we enjoy a cool swim. After the rain, you may be lucky to witness the almost 100-metre waterfall cascading down the rock face. Then we head to camp for a hearty dinner. (BLD)
Day 6 - Karijini NP - Miracle Mile
We start the day at Oxer Lookout, checking out Junction Pool where 4 gorges meet. We then take on the challenge of the 'The Miracle Mile'. This adventurous hike includes inching your way over ledges, squeezing through deep chasms eroded billions of years ago, climbing banded iron rock walls and swimming in fresh water rock pools and takes us through Hancock Gorge, Weano Gorge and Junction Pool. In the afternoon we give our legs a well-earned rest and visit the Karijini Cultural Centre, which is full of local and aboriginal information. Overnight Karijini (BLD)
Day 7 - Karijini NP
An early start for our final hike along the top of Dales Gorge, down to Circular Pool, on to Fortesque Falls and finishing with a refreshing swim at picturesque Fern Pool. Leaving Karijini behind, we head north through Port Hedland, checking out the enormous piles of iron ore and salt. We set up our bush camp amongst the white gum trees on the De Grey River. (BLD)
Day 8 - Eighty Mile Beach to Broome
Today we cross the Great Sandy Desert, calling in at the coastal oasis of Eighty Mile Beach where we may have time for a quick swim in the turquoise water and a chance to collect some unique seashells. We arrive into the historical pearling town of Broome in the afternoon with time to visit magnificent Cable Beach, watch the sunset and reflect over the past 8 adventurous days! (BL)
