Kuranda with Skyrail and Scenic Train Guided Tour
One of the world's famous railways, offering spectacular views and a sense of history under the wheels.
The Kuranda mountain railway, completed in June 1891, was constructed entirely by hand and is still considered an engineering feat.
Kuranda Scenic Train. Ride through 15 handhewn tunnels as the train winds its way slowly down the mountain and over the curved Stoney Creek bridge with a beautiful waterfall almost touching you.
Kuranda Village. Plenty of free time to enjoy Kuranda's many attractions.
The world's most beautiful rainforest experience. The world's only rainforest cableway was completed in September 1994.
Skyrail Cableway. You climb the MacAlister range in a 6 person gondola offering superb views of the Coral Sea and alight at Red Peak Station to stroll on a rainforest boardwalk offering an amazing diversity of plants, animals and birdlife. Then it's time to skim over rainforest wilderness to Kuranda, stopping for views of the Barron Falls and Gorge. A visit to the Rainforest Interpretative Centre is a must.
