Travel 50 minutes along the scenic Gillies Highway to the Atherton Tablelands. After an introduction to the region and a briefing on biking and safety procedures, we bike through local villages on both sealed and gravel roads. Passing through rainforest areas our route takes us by the crater of Lake Eacham, Yungaburra historic village, Malanda Falls and other interesting places. We overnight at the historic Lake Eacham Hotel arriving in the late afternoon, allowing time to explore the village or relax in the comfort of the hotel before dinner. The small village has great local craft shops. Biking time is approximately 4 and a half hours of undulating terrain. Extensions are possible for more active riders. (Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: Atherton Tablelands - Cairns

An early rise provides an opportunity to view the unique and elusive duck billed platypus in the nearby creek. After a hearty breakfast we bike rainforest trails amongst tropical Danbulla State Forest. Explore Wright's Creek Falls and Lake Tinaroo. Visit Lake Barrine, a water filled crater of an extinct volcano. Riding time for day 2 is approximately 5-6 hours of gradual terrain. A support vehicle is in attendance wherever the trails permit entry and the route covered is changed to suit the fitness level of the group. Late afternoon return to Cairns. (Breakfast, Lunch)
