DAY 1
Depart Melbourne Hotel of your choice and get introduced to the special journey that lies in front of you.

The first leg of our journey is along one of the world's most scenic coastlines - the Great Ocean Road. Along the way, you will hear the story behind the making of this spectacular coastal road and we stop to have a look at some of the unique wildlife of Australia when we look for Kangaroos and Koalas.

After lunch in Apollo Bay we discover an Aboriginal site dating back over 5,000 years and we learn of the discovery of ancient fossils at Dinosaur Cove, before exploring the Otways rainforest a little bit closer when we go for a walk.

To end the day we experience the 'Rainforest by Night' walk and view the magical glow worms. We overnight on the Great Ocean Road at Otway Paradise Cottages. These 4 star cottages are set within 50ha of rainforest, with river frontage and waterfalls on the property.

DAY 2
After breakfast, we head along the Shipwreck coast to discover how the Twelve Apostles were created. Load your camera - there will be plenty of photo opportunities.

A short drive further along the coast takes us to Loch Ard Gorge, where the tragic story of the Loch Ard shipwreck will be brought to life for you, with extracts read out from the journal of the two survivors and original artifacts from the shipwreck handed around.

After having lunch at the seaside village of Port Campbell we head off to Grampians National Park. In Gariwerd (the Aboriginal name for the Grampians) we retrace the footsteps of explorer Major Thomas Mitchell, reading extracts from his diary as he led an expedition through the region in the 1830's.

We visit some of the many astonishing lookouts where you will discover the extraordinary and dramatic formations that were created here 400 million years ago.

DAY 3
80% of Aboriginal art sites in Victoria occur here and we visit an Aboriginal rock art shelter which is dated to be over 5,000 years old.

We also stop at Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre where the Aboriginal communities share their knowledge of the culture, both past and present, through display, exhibitions and bush tucker.

En-route to the Goldfields, we call in at some of the local wineries. As we pass through the historic township of Ballarat, we hear tales of life on the Victorian goldfields as told through the letters of diggers, storekeepers and bushrangers.
