Region: Red Centre and Central Australia (NT) | Duration: 2 Day | Commences: Ayers Rock or Alice Springs

Day 1. Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Uluru (Ayers Rock).
Arrive at Ayers Rock Airport before 1.00 p.m. and be transferred to your hotel. We enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and travel to the giant domes of Kata Tjuta. These 36 rocky domes support an array of native fauna and flora, some of which can be found nowhere else on earth. The domes are thought to have once been a single rock many times the size of Uluru. Walk into Olga Gorge (Walpa Gorge). Look for ancient petroglyphs (stone carvings) and learn of Aboriginal mythology. Enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun set over Uluru.
Stay: Ayers Rock Resort, choice of hotel.

Day 2. Uluru Sunrise & Base Tour, Mala Walk, Kantju Gorge, Cultural Centre, Alice Springs.
Rise early to see Uluru at sunrise. Enjoy a tea or coffee as the sun's first rays strike Uluru. Take a guided walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu, viewing cave paintings and hearing about Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Then join the Mala Walk and tour the base of Uluru, stopping at Kantju Gorge. Alternatively, forgo the Mutitjulu and Mala walks to climb Uluru and take in the stunning views 348 metres above the desert floor. Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. View Mt Conner rising above the desert plain en route to Alice Springs, arriving at 6.30 p.m.
