• Valley of the Winds Walk • Barbeque Dinner
Sit back and enjoy the leisurely drive to Kata Tjuta as your Driver/Guide explains the geological history of Kata Tjuta and its surrounds. On arrival your Driver/Guide will escort you on a 2-3 hour walk amongst the domes to the Valley of the Winds lookout. The walking path is rocky and requires a good level of fitness. Marvel at the flora and the naturally formed conglomerate rock. Once at the Valley of the Winds lookout gaze out over the central valley of Kata Tjuta. This is one of the few areas of Kata Tjuta that Anangu (the local Aboriginal people) allow people to visit. After the walk, take in a magnificent 'outback' sunset. Enjoy a traditional Australian barbeque dinner consisting of steak, sausages, kangaroo meat, salads and bread. After dinner an AAT Kings staff member will point out the visible stars and constellations in the southern hemisphere sky (weather permitting). On a clear night the view of the stars will leave a lasting memory of the beauty of Central Australia. Tea and coffee are provided. Enquire about vegetarian meals at time of booking. (D)
Note: During the hotter months of the year the National Park Rangers may preclude access to the Valley of the Winds lookout. This will be substituted with the Walpa Gorge walk.
