DAY 1: Auckland -Wellington
The Overlander train takes you south on your full day journey to Wellington.
You see the Waikato dairy country; rugged King Country; skirt around an active volcano (Mt Ruapehu); then alongside the coast to the Capital. Spend two nights in Wellington.

DAY 2: At Wellington
A whole day to explore our capital city - we have included a half day city tour this morning - this covers the Parliament Buildings, the "Beehive", Old St Pauls Cathedral, city and harbour panoramas from Mt Victoria and a ride on the Cable Car. Overnight in Wellington.

DAY 3: Wellington - Napier
Today you travel along the Kapiti Coast to Palmerston North, southern Hawkes Bay and to Napier. You will be met and taken on a wine tour the the vineyards, and a tour of the district. Overnight in Napier

DAY 4: Napier - Rotorua
This morning is free to explore our Art Deco capital. Your coach leaves after midday to take you across the Rangitaiki Plains to Lake Taupo and then on through the vast exotic forests to Rotorua where you stay 2 nights.

DAY 5: At Rotorua
The half day Grand Tour is included. You will see geysers, boiling mud pools, tame trout at the springs and performing sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. This afternoon is free. For a small additional cost you could stay at a country home tonight. Overnight in Rotorua

DAY 6: Rotorua - Waitomo - Auckland
Across the Waikato Valley to visit the famous Waitomo glowworm caves, and then over the Bombay Hills to arrive in Auckland at 4.50 pm.
