Day 1: Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua
Over the Bombay Hills and through lush Waikato pasture, past Hamilton and on to Waitomo caves. Enjoy a subterranean boat ride under an eerie canopy of glow worm lights. On across the Waikato and Mamaku Hills to fiery Rotorua. We recommend you attend a delicious Maori hangi (feast) and concert tonight (optional). Overnight in Rotorua

Day 2: Morning Sightseeing Rotorua - Lake Taupo
A half day sightseeing tour is included - you will see roaring geysers, boiling mud pools at the thermal area, tame trout at the springs and performing sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. Drive south past Waiotapu and through the exotic forests until you reach Wairakei where thermal steam billows across the road. Soon you arrive at deep blue Lake Taupo, a giant volcanic crater. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore this wonderful scenic area. Overnight at Lake Taupo

Day 3: Taupo - Auckland
There is time for (optional) early morning fishing. We have included a tour which will take you to unique Huka Falls, the Wairakei thermal area, Aratiatia River Rapids and Craters of the Moon. You leave Taupo at 2.00 pm and drive north via Lake Karapiro, Cambridge and Hamilton to arrive in Auckland at 6.3O pm. (There is a morning coach if you need to be back earlier.)
